10 days/9 nights
on the M.S. Polaris
|
Located 600 miles off the coast of Ecuador, the Galápagos Islands provide a natural habitat for some of the world's most unusual animals, and these species do not fear people and are so abundant that you just be careful to avoid stepping on them. We fly from Guayaquil to the island of Baltra in the Galápagos Islands, where we embark the Polaris. Animal life varies from island to island, but you are likely to encounter sea lions, turtles, blue-footed boobies, penguins, or a male frigate bird ballooning his crimson chest pouch to attract a female. You will have the opportunity to view the marine life up-close from your glass-bottom boat. We will visit the following islands: Hood, Floreana, Tower, Isabela, James, Fernandina, Bartolomé, and Santa Cruz. You may walk, snorkel with the sea lions, photograph, join Zodiac explorations and observe wildlife. We spend the first and last nights in Guayaquil, in the Hotel Hilton Colón. Opportunity to visit the city. |
