This 10-day trip features some of Costa Rica's most popular destinations--great for first-time visitors or for those returning to Costa Rica. 

You will explore the Monteverde Cloud Forest--one of the most biologically diverse cloud forests in the Americas, Founded in 1972, the Reserve extends down both slopes of the Tilarán Mountains (elevation 2,300ft. to 5,600 ft.), encompassing six different ecological life zones and protecting more than 100 species of mammals, 400 species of birds and 1,500 species of plants. 

At the Arenal Volcano - active since 1968, see by night, the spectacular display of volcanic activity, which may include explosions and lava flows,  weather permitting. By day enjoy a guided walk in the Arenal National Park to the lava flows (transportation provided).

The scenic backwater canals of Tortuguero along the Caribbean coast and the Tortuguero National Park are a must for nature lovers. You will have two full days to explore the area, including two boat excursions with local guides and a visit to the Caribbean conservation Corporation Museum to learn about the Atlantic Green sea turtle. Tortuguero National Park, originally intended to protect a major nesting beach of the turtle, now protects 51,870 acres, one of the last large areas of tropical rain forests in Central America.
