| Jim is a consulting
naturalist for WCCO Radio, co-author of the Minnesota Weatherguide
Calendars, author of two books on nature in Minnesota, and writes a weekly
nature column in several newspapers. He teaches part-time in the
Environmental Studies program at Gustavus Adolphus College, where he
graduated in 1962. After earning a Master of Natural Science degree from
the University of Oklahoma he studied at several other institutions. For
thirty years Jim served the Hopkins Public Schools as a science teacher
and naturalist, retiring in 1998.
Sandy is a former public school music teacher and for twelve years was the manager of their family business - The Wild Bird Store. Together Jim and Sandy have led eighteen ecotours to such places as Costa Rica, Galapagos Islands, Peru, and Kenya. They have three grown sons and are grandparents. Their home is located near the shore of Lake Waconia on the western edge of the Twin Cities Metropolitan area. |
